Belle, the wonder cow, is our provider of milk during the season when she is nursing a calf, or two, or three. She will raise any baby you put on her. She raised Miss Clementine from the time Clem was 3 days old. Belle is a gorgeous, much-loved Jersey cow. She is one of a kind.

Puddy is our latest addition. He is a “Shorty Jack”; one of six dogs, including two Jack Russells, Two Border Collies, and Two Great Pyrenees.

my mare

Jetta Pie is my favorite horse right now, I must say. She is very sensitive, and was flighty when I first started her, but she’s turned out to be a very nice mare. We are working on bridle-less riding. Or, I should say, hackamore-less, since she has never had a bit in her mouth.

Stylish Ranch GirlDUMBO

a cute goat

Dumbo was born in February 2014. His mom, my beloved Nana, passed away a day after he and three siblings were born. The large birth was just too much for her. We miss her loving personality, and funny antics every day. She was a beautiful soul, and she had the cutest kid ever. Nana was part of the family.

About Me

My name is Melanie. My husband and I are ranchers in Central Texas. We raise cattle and horses; ranching is our way of life. In addition to ranching, working cattle, and riding horses, I love to cook. I’m a care-taker by nature, and love how God has provided us with so many ways to heal ourselves. Also, I am creative, and love all things beautiful.

About 14 years ago, I departed on a journey that forever changed my life. That is when I became interested in natural healing, and received the gift of healing. I also became a born-again Christian. If you are interested in becoming a Christian, start off by saying this simple prayer, and mean it with all your heart. You shall begin to receive the Holy Spirit, and it will change your life. If you would like to know more, feel free to contact me. I would love to hear from you.

Dear Heavenly Father, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I deserve the consequences of my sin. However, I am trusting in Jesus Christ as my Savior. I believe that His death and resurrection provided for my forgiveness. I trust in Jesus and Jesus alone as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank you Lord, for saving me and forgiving me! Amen!

In February, 2012, Grace nested atop a bale of alfalfa, and Ollie hatched on March 7th. Grace was used to us coming and going in the barn, so she did not seem to mind my short daily visits with Ollie. Ollie grew like a weed, and at six weeks of age, fledged the nest. Ollie stayed close to the barn the first ten days after fledging. After that, we spotted Ollie and Grace a few times throughout the summer. We wouldn’t see Grace again until the next nesting season. Ollie was on his own. Life is... read more
